Common Name – Chickpea

Uses :- Roasted chickpeas are nothing short of addictive and are great to have on hand to curb those afternoon munchies. But don’t stop at snacking! Instead of toasted nuts, sprinkle your salad with roasted chickpeas. They provide crunch and flavor, along with some extra grams of protein.Roasted chickpeas can take on almost any herbs and spices, so the sky’s the limit for seasoning them. Some of my favorites are curry powder, dried rosemary, smoked paprika and Italian seasoning. Don’t forget the salt and pepper. This red colored powder is used as a spice in various dishes for its sharpness and flavor. Chili peppers are commonly used with a variety of spices such as parsley, cumin and salt. The spiciness of chili powder varies with the presence of different additives. Nowadays, almost every dish worldwide has red colored chili powder in one or the other dish.

While the chickpeas roast, prepare the spice mixture: combine the cumin, brown sugar, cayenne, cinnamon, garlic, ginger, paprika and salt in a medium bowl. Mix until the color is uniform. As soon as the chickpeas come out of the oven, toss with the spice blend.
